HWg-cloud and SensDesk are online services for remote monitoring and control of HW group devices and sensors.
The HWg-cloud portal is a free service with basic device management functions and email alerts.
SensDesk is the paid alternative with more features, both for single users with a few devices and for the project installations with hundreds of devices. In addition, third-party providers offer their own portals based on SensDesk technology in local languages and with different pricing models.
The following table shows the most important differences between the two portals at a glance:

Compared to the HWg-cloud portal, the SensDesk portal offers the advantage that data is stored longer and you can get alerts not only via email but also via voice call and SMS, among others. Furthermore, you can create periodic CSV or PDF reports, connect SensDesk to other systems via Open API (SNMP, XML) and customize the user interface.
There are different subscription plans for SensDesk. They are each valid for 1 year. The number of devices, users, text and voice messages and log memory depends on the price of the license.
HW group customers currently using SensDesk can still migrate to the free HWg-cloud.com portal until February 28, 2022 ( prolonged from 30.11.2021 ). This blog post describes the migration.

As of February 28, 2022 ( prolonged from 30.11.2021 ), the IoT portal SensDesk will change to a subscription-based model. This blog post explains how to migrate your devices from SensDesk to the free portal HWg-cloud. Alternatively, HW group has released a tutorial on YouTube on how to do this.
Before migrating the HW group devices from one portal to another it is important to know that during the migration all stored values and settings until that point, such as alarms, will be lost.
The transfer between SensDesk and HWg-cloud works the same way in both directions, however, the migration from SensDesk to HWg-cloud will be explained here as an example. To be able to migrate a HW group device you will need an account on both platforms. The following list explains the process step by step.

First click on the "Devices" tab in the SensDesk cloud
Then click on the device you want to migrate
Below the IP address, click on the link "Migrate to a paid service"
Then enter the username and password of the user account of the desired portal
Lastly, select the desired portal and click on the "Save" button

The device will appear on the portal after the initial push message. This can take up to 15 minutes for SD devices and up to 10 hours for NB-IoT devices. You can alternatively reboot the device to speed up this process.

The standalone monitoring category contains all standard HW group devices like Poseidon2, STE/STE2, Ares, Damocles2, WLD2, HWg-PWR and IP Watchdog.
These devices have a web server for local configuration. They can additionally send e-mails independently and communicate with various monitoring systems via SNMP, XML and other protocols. The standalone devices operate independently. They can be connected to the SensDesk portal or the HWg cloud, but it is not mandatory. The second category IoT Monitoring, contains the SD and NB product series.
These devices require the use of an online service, such as SensDesk.com or Hwg-cloud.com in order to operate. They do not provide a web server. Configuration and alarming are done via the cloud. The devices can be connected to other monitoring systems via Open API (SNMP, XML).

egnite is expanding its range in the area of networking I/O. Starting from September 2021 we now carry the devices by NETIO products a.s.
The Czech manufacturer produces PDUs (Power Distribution Units), as well as smart power sockets and cables that can be controlled via LAN and WiFi.
NETIO devices support all the major network protocols, such as SNMP, MQTT or Modbus. Some of them can also be tailored to suit specific requirements by using Lua scripts. The manufacturer additionally provides a range of operational drivers for the integration into third-party systems such as Control4, Crestron, Domoticz, Grafana, Loxone, Nagios, Paessler, Zabbix, and many others.
NETIO products can be ordered via the egnite shop as of now.

Teracom has released another device for remote monitoring and control over cellular networks, the LTE IO module TCG140-4. TCG140-4 covers 4G / LTE CAT 1 communications at up to 5 Mbit/s max. The device also supports 3G and 2G radio communications and provides data connectivity on LTE FDD, DC HSDPA, HSPA+, HSDPA, HSUPA, WCDMA, EDGE and GPRS networks. This means it can be used practically anywhere there is a cellular network. The Teracom devices TCG140 and TCG140-4 differ only in technology and communication ranges. The entire input and output periphery as well as the digital interfaces are identical. This allows easy migration from the 2G device to the 4G device in places where 2G services are switched off.
A detailed description of the device is available on the Teracom website .
TCG140-4 is now avaible in our online shop .
