As of February 28, 2022 (prolonged from 30.11.2021), the IoT portal SensDesk will change to a subscription-based model. This blog post explains how to migrate your devices from SensDesk to the free portal HWg-cloud. Alternatively, HW group has released a tutorial on YouTube on how to do this.
Before migrating the HW group devices from one portal to another it is important to know that during the migration all stored values and settings until that point, such as alarms, will be lost.
The transfer between SensDesk and HWg-cloud works the same way in both directions, however, the migration from SensDesk to HWg-cloud will be explained here as an example. To be able to migrate a HW group device you will need an account on both platforms. The following list explains the process step by step.
- First click on the "Devices" tab in the SensDesk cloud
- Then click on the device you want to migrate
- Below the IP address, click on the link "Migrate to a paid service"
- Then enter the username and password of the user account of the desired portal
- Lastly, select the desired portal and click on the "Save" button
The device will appear on the portal after the initial push message. This can take up to 15 minutes for SD devices and up to 10 hours for NB-IoT devices. You can alternatively reboot the device to speed up this process.
