VS1063 multi-format audio player and recorder

VS1063 Prototyping Board is a multi-format audio player and recorder that uses VS1063 and an SD card. To record, press and hold the center button for one second until recording starts. The default encoding format, of the internal microphone, is mp3. By changing two jumpers, the encoding is configured to stereo mp3 from the line inputs. The encoding paramters (microphone/line, number of channels, sample rate, bit rate, encoding format) can be changed via the source code. The source code is avaible on the support page of the prototyping board. Reprogramming the SPI EEPROM with the board itself is possible using a RS232-UART or USB-UART adapter (see accessories).

The board includes a single cell switching power supplay, a VS1063 device in an LQFP package, clock, reset, headphone and microphone circuits and an SD card connector with supply signals already connected. It also has a wire-wrap area for adding user-specific functions.
